Wonder Girls Sohee’s First Drama Debut!
Wonder Girls Sohee is starring in KBS 2TV’s drama special 2013 ‘Happy! Rose Day.’
Sohee is starring alongside Jung Woon In, So Yoo Jin, and Kim Do Hyun in the drama ‘Happy! Rose Day’ (written by Kim Min Jung and directed by Kim Young Jo).
Ahn Sohee plays the role of a bright and healthy twenty-one year old named Areum who operates a flower shop in place of her sick mother. Although she was a little nervous trying her hand at acting for the first time, she revealed with gratitude that with the help and guidance of her fellow actors, she was able to finish filming successfully.
Jung Woong In, who plays the role of Chan Wook, was able to help guide Ahn Sohee in her acting by taking on the part of a gracious older uncle. With So Yoo Jin he acted as a plain and boring married couple, proving his acting prowess.
So Yoo Jin, who returned to acting for the first time after her wedding, plays the role of a business woman who is torn between her former lover Do Hoon (Kim Do Hyun) and her faithful yet boring husband Chan Woo. She makes real the emotion of not being able to forget her first love and her dilemma in the drama.
Director Kim Young Joo is characteristically gentle, and helps the actors feel comfortable during filming. He was able to give advice on every little detail, from facial expressions to each movement and action.
After she finished filming, Sohee said, ‘I didn’t play the part of Areum as a mellow person. Instead I focused on playing the part of a bright and optimistic girl despite having a sick mother because I wanted anyone in the same position to have a strong spirit and the energy to not give up. I hope that all viewers will not look unkindly upon my first acting experience.’
‘Happy! Rose Day’ is the story of couple Chan Woo and Ka Young who are normal, except for the wife’s unforgotten love for her former lover, and the husband’s attraction to the lively twenty-one year old flower shop girl. They are both swept up by their emotions, and eventually separate. It is a melodrama of a love affair, breakup, and married life.
It is slate to air on August 14.
