Legendary US rapper Missy Elliott will perform at KCON 2013 in LA August 25
Missy Elliott will perform at KCON.No – this is not a joke.
The five-time Grammy-winning rapper, and the only female hip-hop artist with six platinum records, has officially joined the lineup for this KCON 2013 at the end of the month.
That means she will be performing alongside the likes of G-Dragon, Dynamic Duo, EXO, and f(x) for the first US taping of the popular music performance show M! Countdown as part of the American K-Pop convention on August 25.
It has been a long time since Elliot has released a studio album, 2005 to be exact, and she has mostly been writing and producing for other artists with the occasional featuring here and there.Earlier this year she announced that she would be featured on Big Bang frontman G-Dragon’s upcoming solo album.
Elliott is expected to release her highly anticipated seventh album, Block Party, later this year after teasing fans with a handful of single releases in late 2012.Could her KCON participation be a clue as to what is in store for the new album?
K-Pop fans are eager to see what is in store for Missy Elliot’s KCON appearance, and many are hoping to get a glimpse at her and G-Dragon in action together.
KCON is North America’s largest K-Pop fan convention and in addition to the massive idol concert to close things out, it will feature a wide range of workshops and panel discussions on topics like the influence of YouTube on the genre, Asians in hip-hop, songwriting, and choreography.
KCON 2013 will be held at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena on August 24 and 25.Tickets range in price from $60-$300 and can be purchased through the convention’s website.

The adorable girls of Girl’s Day had a chance to interview Lee Hyun Do of the legendary hip hop duo Deux for Loen TV‘s Coming Soon Interview (C.S.I) series.
