YG's new boy group "Winner" is scheduled for a December debut, and JYP is preparing to debut post-2PM.
The battle between the "Big 3" in the music world is being rekindled. While SM Entertainment's hit male group EXO is preparing for a November comeback, both YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment are looking to debut boy bands as well. It's as if the latter 2 agencies are looking to compete with the undeniable popularity of EXO.
YG Entertainment's newest boy group "Winner" was chosen by viewers through a 10-episode survival audition group called "Who Is Next: WIN." 11 YG trainees were split into Team A and Team B, and battled it out over 10 episodes. On the 25th, viewers voted for the 5-member Team A or 6-member Team B, and the winner was announced on the live show. They're looking to debut as early as December this year. WINNER will be the first boy group to debut from YG Entertainment since Big Bang. WINNER includes Mnet's past "Superstar K" participant Kang Seung Yoon.

JYP Entertainment will also be debuting a boy group early next year. The 7 members will make up the first boy band to debut from JYP Entertainment since 2PM's debut 6 years ago. The group will include talented members from America, Canada, Hong Kong, and of course Korea. They were featured on the September 13th episode of "WIN" as they battled against the YG trainees. It's been revealed that these singers with striking good looks were chosen through JYP's global auditions. Their current album preparations are in full swing, but their team name has yet to be determined.
YG and JYP will both be debuting new groups post-Big Bang and post-2PM, respectively, and there's much anticipation as to whether these 2 groups will be able to compete with EXO. Will they be able to stand up against EXO, who's made record sales this year and boasts a massive fandom? We can only wait and see to find out.
